Kitalpha's Third Crop

The beginning of the 2009 calendar year commenced Kitalpha's 3rd crop racing season. With three small crops and only 88 starters Kitalpha managed to dominate the scene. With wins at every SAF race track, Kitalpha's progeny influence, extended throughout the entire continent of SAF. At one major track a Kitalpha listed as the favorite, was defeated by a Kitalpha maiden, causing leading SAF bloodstock agent, Dell Coon, to state, "IT TAKES A KITALPHA TO BEAT A KITALPHA"!

Not only were there more wins at more tracks, but 2009 brought Kitalpha progeny increased success at the Graded Stakes level, again in all regions of SAF. Kitalpha's Graded Stakes performers went on to compete at the elite race meet at the Greyville course in Dublin. On July 4th KILLARIDGE defeated 14 of SAF's best horses in the grueling 2200 mm SBAC GR-III Cup. Moreover, KILLARIDGE'S winning time proved faster than the Classic GR-I, run the same day, on the same course, over the same distance! 2009 was also the year that Kitalpha sons BLUEMAMBO, and ROYAL EXTRAVAGANZA joined SECRET LIFE to become his 2nd and 3rd GR-I Stakes performers.

Finally, in a grand closing, Kitalpha's Champion daughter REBECCA'S FLEET was again crowned Champion by winning all three legs of her country's Triple Crown. With 10 wins from 11 starts , REBECCA'S FLEET has defeated horses of both sexs and all ages, running both short and long. With this final accomplishment REBECCA'S FLEET'S racing is worthy of comparison to her great granddam MIESQUE!

Of course, all this 2009 racing activity did not go unoticed at the yearling sales. Trainers from all over SAF flocked to the May SAFZIM yearling sale to bid on Kitalpha's 4th crop yearlings. Topping the sale in numbers sold, and average price, trainers defied the economic times to make Kitalpha yearlings, SAFZIM's leading export product.
