Kitalpha, a full brother to major sire Kingmambo, stands at War Horse Place. The 9-year-old unraced son of Mr. Pospector, out of international champion Miesque, stands for $12,500.
A Kentucky-bred, Kitalpha sired two crops to race in South Africa. Kitalpha's first crop produced winners Frog Watch, Killaridge, and Queen of the Hill, plus stakes-placed Stella Bella. Frog Watch won the 2007 group III Wakefield TBA Champion Juvenile Stakes and Stella Bella, a filly, ran third. Frog Watch was the leading money earner of horses of all ages in ZIMSAF, and the country's champion 2YO. (See Progeny Performance on this site.)
Kitalpha's second crop brought his total Stakes horses to 7 with 4 Graded Stakes winners. Kitalpha's statistics make him a leading second crop sire in both Northern or Southern hemispheres. (See Progeny Performance on this site.)
Kitalpha's two crops produced 44 starters, 26 winners (59%), 7 Stakes winners (16%), and 4 Graded Stakes winners (9%), Kitalpha's GRI stakes horse, Secret Life, just posted a 1:07 and change for 6 furlongs in a GRI photo finish! (See Kitalpa's Leading Runners on this site.)
Kitalpha not only is a full brother of Kingmambo, who has sired 73 stakes winners, but also to French champion filly East of the Moon and French stallion Miesque's Son. Miesque, by Nureyev, won consecutive runnings of the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) and was voted an Eclipse Award both years. (See more information on Miesque and mating advice on this site.)
