The Office Manager

Emma Risley joined the War Horse team in May of 2011. As Office Manager, she over sees the day to day operations for War Horse Place. Emma graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville with degrees in Agricultural Business and Animal Science with emphasis on Equine Management. She is also a Kentucky Equine Management Internship graduate, having completed the Spring 2009 session at Royal Oak Farm, and Fall 2010 session at Denali Stud. Emma started her career in the equine industry at the age of fifteen working for Hylee Farm in Wisconsin. During her four year stay, she worked with mares and foals, stallions, and show horses of all ages. It was while researching available internships in college that she found the KEMI program. During the course of her internship with Royal Oak she gained experience with foaling out mares, barren mares, and the breeding season. At Denali Stud she worked the yearlings, weanlings, and mares, getting them ready for their respective sales. She has developed her skills over many years and has a passion for horses and the thoroughbred industry.
